This was an honor to contribute to this book! The women who wrote these stories, poems and such are amazing strong courageous women! The stories will be relatable to many. It is a must read! Perhaps you know someone or yourself affected by abuse or crimes against women! See this ladies raise up against the shame it can bring! Stand up!!
Amy Brooks has compiled and edited a group of stories, poems and quotes from some brave women who shared their stories of past hardships and trauma but have persevered.
The proceeds from the book will go to the House of Ruth to help other women and their children in their time of need. A worthy cause, you support courageous women who share their story and women who find themselves in a dangerous situation that seems out of their control. Check out the book. I bought this book to give to a friend who has been through abuse. I decided to read it first. I read the whole thing in less than 2 hrs. It is really tragic what these women have been through. I truly think that by reading this book, more women will find the courage to let go of their secrets and learn how to move on and have a healthy future.
This was an eye-opening read, which was informative and disturbing at times. It is a must-read for all women.
The many styles and voices each has a genuine story that needed to be told and heard.
It is perfect that the proceeds of this book are going to help women and children who have been victimized.
It was such an honor to be a contributor to this project. I am in awe of the amazing and powerful women who bared their souls and released their pain. By writing my own story, I was able to let go of the burden I had been carrying for years. If you have grappled with any burden, this will inspire you to let go of the pain and not own it as shame. I am proud that proceeds go to the House of Ruth women's shelter. By sharing out stories we are helping other women to overcome their own pain.
This collection of stories written by women who have come through very difficult times is at times very emotional to read. The nightmares that the women endured are awful but these women came out the other side so, in the end, their stories feel empowering. As a survivor of abuse, it was helpful to hear other people's stories and be reminded that you can survive and that you don't need to be ashamed of what you've gone through. Well worth reading.
